sj413 engine help!!!!

sj413 85 has had diesel in it and is nor running right well not at all, its been to a mechanic witch said he fixed it but has not and will on fix the problem that he failed to fix....

so the problem is it will start and idle sweet but when you give it gas it revs dies like its choking

at an educated guess the carby is probably gummed up with diesel or something, it would help people give you advice if you posted up what the mechanic did to it when he looked at it

Hey there. I had a similar problem with my 413. it just died when i gave it gas. i took it to a mechanic and he cleaned up my carb. sorted the problem. was apparently like 60% blocked.

was yours intermittent like it would run for a week anr a couple or days and then die ??

Yea. It was abit random. One day I drove to work, it was perfectly fine. But on way home it died at a stop sign. I thought it was something to do with choke but nar. I had it looked at and the mechanic asked me if I had had problems running it . He told me my carb was all blocked up. I was also going through a heap of fuel too which also stopped after being tuned up. Hope that helped. Cheers
