Tires are like boobs, they always look big until you have played with them for a while, then you just want a bigger set.

Re: Dyno tuning in Christchurch?
re sinclair do a lot of carbs on rotary engines, tune a lot of other vechicles as well but not sure about v8's etc I'm sure they'd be fine.
if ya want to pay 200 an hour for about 3-4 hours to gain 2 more hp than a decent carb tuner that doesnt have a dyno is another question all together..

There was the Carb Shop here in town that reconditioned carbs but they've been gone for a while now. Can't think of any others locally.

Re: Dyno tuning in Christchurch?
Garry at P.A.D Racing in Hands Rd, Chch is very good with all forms of tuning. Single carb, multi carb, Motec, link and all other EFI systems as well as the mechanical ones like Hillborn etc.
He has a highly analytical mind and soon works out any issues.
He even managed to tune and work out the whole air/fuel induction system on my 1911 Wolseley Siddeley. This car has a slide trombone style barrel throttle inside the manifold. Garry found some control mechanisms on the carb that had not been understood in the previous 60 years of ownership. He sorted the issues created from a 50% increase in compression ratio (my own piston design and casting) and now the car runs sweeter and is more economic too.
Lots of RX7's are tuned in this shop, as are some of the country's top Superbikes, as seen racing this weekend at Ruapuna.
Yes he has one of the best kinds of dyno, designed in Wellington and now sold around the world. He also works well with just an exhaust analyser and road tuning, as his skills are way beyond being just a Dyno jockey.
Over the years that I have worked alongside or used Garry's services, I have seen all sorts of highly successful vehicles tuned. Many differing forms of race vehicles from Classic to Super Bikes, Dragcars to Vintage race, Pre-65, European classic single-seater to F5000, thru Winch challenge, and Trials buggies, to CORR style offroad race trucks and NZ speed record contenders. Many have gone on to win NZ titles.
I highly recommend

Paul Kirk is a guy I have used a couple of times. Old guy that really knows his stuff. Really good with v8s and especially holley cabs but knows his stuff with others too.
