HILUX DIFFS???

HEY THERE

This is a stupid qustion and ino some one elce out there on this web sit would have answered it but i cant find the basic explanation or answer.So i have 4.5 diffs front and rear in my 1984 hilux beam axle surf but blew the rear diff.Can i put a front 4.5 diff in the rear?Will i have eny issues with it being weak?Would it matter if it is a front lsd and i want to put in front?

Your diffs are interchangable, but to put LSD in the front you may need to shorten your axles by 3-5mm
