New to Hamilton

Post by tuesdaytaurus »

Hello ORE community!

I'm new to Hamilton and semi new to 4wd off-roading. I've driven a couple of tracks to and from Muriwai beach, but nothing hard-core. For me, it's always been about the nature, the views and getting off the road a bit.
I'm looking for a couple of mild tracks around Waikato to explore. If there are any suggestions, or any planned trips, I'd be keen to hear about them.
Not really interested in joining a club at the moment, but that may change in the near future.

Have fun, off-roaders!

Welcome
There are a couple of hamilton clubs when/if you are keen. Both clubs have access to places the public can't just go to so there are pluses to joining. Thompsons is the most obvious for ya to check out.

Thanks for the reply.
I figured that might be the case. With the research I've done so far, I know about the Cozzie Four wheelers and the Waikato 4WD club. Are there any others around here?

I've never been up Thompsons, but I've seen a map somewhere. I have a mate with a Pajero who is also keen to go for a play. So we may attempt it someday soon (depending on the weather). I will post again when we we've decided. In the mean time I might look up the waikato 4wd club to see what they are all about. It's too bad that their website is horrible :(
