FJ40 stock rims

Post by MattSmith »

Can anyone tell me what the stock rims/tires are for a 1983 FJ40 in New Zealand please? Bought it off a farm with 33x12.5 off road tires but i'm just running building materials around the city. Need to get something smaller. Thanks

around 1976 onwards they came out with 16" split rims and they probably had either 700x16 or 750x16 tyres

I'd rather not use split rims, can anyone recommend an alternative that is similar to the stock setup and works well for daily driving please?

its do-able but it would be pretty hard to find a set of the early steel 16" pre split rims these days they have all long since been throwen out and rusted away, shit there isnt even a lot of split rims around these days, you'd have to do a bit of searching or look at aftermarket options that look simular?

I'm wanting to swap these out for something better for around the city.

Happy to use aftermarket that look similar to originals. If anyone has done this it would be great to know.

Thanks

Ive got a set of the original one piece 16" landcruiser rims they have the tabs to fit the factory hub caps to also. :D
Toyota Landcruiser FJ40, front and rear lockers, 35" simex.
Toyota FJ45 build in progress.
Tires are like boobs, they always look big until you have played with them for a while, then you just want a bigger set.
