Lifts /USA importing - anyone bringing in anything soon?

Post by para »

Wanting to do the popular 4.5 inch lift very soon for the xj. Thinking the rough country with long arm kit. Feight is a killer so wondering if anyone is bringing anything jeep in soon, and we could combine for cheaper freight? Ive emailed jeep4x4center.com to see if they could send the kit to the mainfreight LA depot, to get it freighted through them to nz but they never replied. Anyone else had issues with these guys? Im not really set on the roughcountry kit so im open to suggestions / other websites to get from. All want to do is get say 32's maybe 33's on and i dont mind trimming :D :D

I have not dealt with this vendor, but there are many other vendors that ship overseas. I mostly use Quadratec and SummitRacing. I have got a lot of the stuff directly from them.

Also, you can use somebody like www.buyusa.co.nz to get your freight from US. I have used them in the past with good result.

Other option is to talk to Dave at www.wooders.com.au and see if he can organise something for you. Good guy.

Not yet, but soon. You can still get certed with over 50mm for now as far as I understand it.

Going to need a cert for long arms anyway (again as I understand it).

Someone directed me to kiwishipping.co.nz today. From an email dated June last year they were quoting $5 per cubic foot ($75 minimum) to Tauranga or Auckland, including customs paperwork. I assume that's NZ$ and I'm going to check. They provide an address in California to ship to and you can consolidate multiple items into one shipment. They need paperwork, but an eBay or PayPal invoice is good enough.

Edit: they seem to ship to Welly also, which is what I hoped with the flashy Mainfreight depot they have there now.

I emailed jeep4x4ceter.com again and got a reply this time. Then got a quote from kiwi shipping at $250. cheap! Fnally get time to work on the truck this weekend, so weigh up options then i think.

- and yeah itd definatly need cert and auth card so more to consider! whether just go for a small lift and 31's or big lift and 32's 33's ..... hhmmmm
