What would you expect to pay for tyres?

Post by Filthy4x4 »

Im curious as to what you guys think about tyres.

Mainly talking about 33" Mud tyres - Whats the cheapest?

Prices seem to be all over the show from what I can see.

Whats the best value for money?

What do you base your choices on - Price or Aesthetics or Application/Versitility?

It seems like theres not a huge difference between 2nd hand prices and new prices.

Cheers

Caleb

First I choose what style I want...
Mud or All terrain.
Then settle on a few brands / models. (Based on opinions and seeing what others a running)
Then price.

The used market is rather fickle... Some people want way too much for used tyres...

Thanks Calvin, I do seem to see alot of trending patterns with simex and silverstone tyres popping up every where so I guess quality is becoming a key factor.

Im interested too see what people think about the hankook/ maxxis bighorn type mud tyre...

If you drive on the road, along with peoples families, then price becomes the bottom priority. 4WD's on muddies aren't the greatest on the road, so you want the best, not the cheapest.
Old muddies (check the dates before you buy) are even worse than cheap one's, so don't go there either.

Having said all that, if you only go offroad, then shitty tyres will be more of a challenge than good one's, so let your budget decide
