80 series transfer cases

Post by ClassicCruiserSpares »

I would like to know, is there a way of telling if the transfer case is a 2wd or full time 4wd transefer just by looking at them?
This is on manual 80 series gearboxes and transfer cases?
Cheers Jason

Tires are like boobs, they always look big until you have played with them for a while, then you just want a bigger set.

A part time unit would have an exterior selector for the front drive at a guess

I would guess that a std 80 center diff couldnt handle being part time for any period unlike the counterparts on the other transfur boxes

So the earlier 80s were still running the gearboxes and trans boxes out of the 60s the 70s vehicles

Although im unsure about the later aussy assembled cruisers which were part time

The Hf1a do they have full lever 2wd to 4wd to low 4wd? or are they push button 2wd to 4wd and just high low on lever?
