some of us were more than a little pissed at him due to his generalisation of "idiots" in monster trucks.
Not all are interested in sightseeing tours, some enjoy 4wding in hard going places, not sightseeing all the time.
That does not make me an idiot with no brains, just another take on a similar sport, we utilise tracks which others avoid, and in most cases only maintained by ourselves.
Just because I enjoy that type of 4x4ing doesn't mean i'm an unproductive member of the community, dumb, an idiot, wrecking everything for others, etc.
That was my "personal" beef with him and his opinion of "my type", yet he's never met me.
If (and when) he does' I think we would find some common ground, but gun's blazing never works.

Thanks for the quotes xj hard to understand there mentality I dont see ORE like that at all.I find everthing I need in a 4x4 forum here and nothing that they speak off.I just had a look at the NZFWDA forums and dont see much happening on there at all,its non existent and in no way compares to this quality site.I did read some info on the authority card a few years ago that could have been shared on this site.Personaly I think Tony Burgess missed an opportunity there, but will say thanks to Peter Vahry for his information and comments.

Funny thing is Klompy, that alot of the people the quotes are referring too (ORE members) are also NZFWDA members. Go figure.

If you are going to say anything on this thread that is a person attack at Murry be warned that your post will either be edited or deleted by me.

You have been warned as a whole not to attack the person.

Land access and rights effect all of us for our chosen pass times, as a recreational hunter , pest controller and 4WD owner driver, I am interested in seeing common ground being reached on this one. Really don't see the point of ranting against one man and do not believe he has a personal agenda here. From my experience the 80/20 rule applies to the big tyre "boy racer" style 4WDing we all see, I expect that he was not attacking all drivers of the larger tyred trucks just the ones who do the damage and wreck the tracks for the rest of us.
Maybe tracks for all that all can use and maybe other areas where anything goes ? Either way its an overdue discussion in my eyes.

Nah mate your wrong on that count you better go back and read what was being advocated it was clearly documented as a complete tyre size ban not a ban on some drivers

Some argue that tall tyres do less damage than smaller diameter tyres....
I notice that since a lot of trucks have now gone up in tyre sizes that the ruts are filling in....Yeah Right!
Like a circular saw blade, a big blade cuts deeper than a small blade, unless of course the surface is hard, then it does not seem to matter much.

Tractors have been driving around farms for decades with 1800mm high tires so why don't we see deep ruts to match ?

So is it the big tires that are doing the damage or is it the person behind the steering wheel .

Hi - I agree but can you imagine 20+ tractors roosting around the same track on the same farm in wet conditions ?

I'm picking someone's out for a troll to try to raise some knee-jerk reactions to help push an agenda.

Have fun with that.

Not sure about knee jerk reactions (?) but the govt seems very keen to tidy access and issues around public land usage especially if they ( DOC etc) are looking to decide who , what , where , when get access. I recall the lead shot v steel shot debate on public land - we all never thought it would/could happen ! I'm for open dialogue and discussion on this matter

Murry, consider this the final straw, you have pushed your luck one too many times on ORE - You are now banned.
