As above. I need a front diff for my Vitara. Needs to be the manual, so 5.12 ratio I think. Cheaper the better, but sooner the better too.

Danny with the blue samurai has one sitting in his garage, im sure he is keen to get rid of it.
Re: Wanted Suzuki Vitara / Escudo Front Diff (Manual)
yea I have got hold of him, he has it sitting away for me if I can't find another one. He is just asking a bit much for me right now, but if it comes to it I will just have to bite the bullet

Re: Wanted Suzuki Vitara / Escudo Front Diff (Manual)
IF you can find a steel casing then by all means GET IT as the zuks weakest point is the front alloy diff. 1 of our club members as a zuk and i can't remember how many times we have either yanked, modded it to try to stop it from falling to bits, changed that..
They are $$$ but in the end it'll save you countless hours and $$ changing the broken ones..
They are scarce as rocking horse shit though so good luck..

Re: Wanted Suzuki Vitara / Escudo Front Diff (Manual)
yea last steel front diff I found was $1400. So outa my price range, but would love one all the same. I have been told that with a few changes to mounts, you can fit a hilux front diff in instead. That should solve some of the problems, Might have to look into it.

Re: Wanted Suzuki Vitara / Escudo Front Diff (Manual)
Is it the housing or the carrier that causes all these problems, I realise I prob be told to google it... What wld people pay for a steel housing? lookin at a chopped up SJ rear in the back yard that cld be made to work..

Housings are my biggest problems. think this is the 3rd one I have been through now. Just weak alloy rubbish.

Yip..

Re: Wanted Suzuki Vitara / Escudo Front Diff (Manual)
"If" I cld borrow a vit ally housin that isnt fkd to see what is required to adapt the SJ solid axle housing to suit (it can be covered with half a 7inch? dome pipe cap to brace)
If it can be done "reasonably priced" it wld be in runs of 5 to 10, in my head its only a matter of making up suitable jigs
Really if you root them on a reg basis at? a few hundy a time? whats the economics of it?

Re: Wanted Suzuki Vitara / Escudo Front Diff (Manual)
I know it would be better to get a steel diff, but for a student to save up $1400 in one hit for a diff, is a bit much.
I would offer you my spare casing as its empty, but it seems like you are a bit further away. Surely someone else on here has a spare one?

Re: Wanted Suzuki Vitara / Escudo Front Diff (Manual)
ok I just need the rear half of the diff casing. I have a front half that is all good so just need the bit that the drive-shaft goes into. Then I can out a good diff together out of bits.
Cheers
Kinda like these. complete would be better.
