Diff oil

Post by Daz »

Little help needed....

I need to change my diff oils, now how do I find out if I have LSD in the rear? There should have been a sticker on there but if there was it ain't there now.

How much diff oil will I need? don't want to go and drain it then not have enough to go back in.

Cheers.

Daz, lift both rear wheels off ground then turn one wheel , if the opposite wheel turns in the same direction then it is LSD, if the opposite wheel turns in the opposite direction it is open diff.

Keep squirting it in till it reaches the bottom of the filler hole. Dunno what sort of truck you've got but cruisers take about 2.5 litres each from memory?

Daz, not sure of the Pajero diff capacity, but at a guess between 2 & 3 liters, they have got quite a big housing. Hi Lux takes 2.2lts.
