rear springs

Post by pajeroboy »

does anyone no what the ARB or EFS rear springs fitted into a 01 swb soft top pajero are like?looking at getting new springs, have hurd that they can make the ride very hard, what would be better to have a fixed spring rate or progessive rate?

HI, it depends weather you want to lift it or make it handle a load better. To just lift it i'd try adn get some same diameter (rate) coils but longer. To lift it by putting heavy duty springs in will often result in a firmer ride.
I have never tried progressives in a Paj - Worked quite well in the old Rangie but they always ride nice 8)
SWB V6 Paj with one or two mods ;)

01 jtop? if thats the right year, get us some pics! did you mean 91? i have a 93 jtop and i put raised lwb king springs in it. lifted it nicely and i dont find the ride to harsh either. if it makes a differance to you, i have the adjustable shocks and ride height in mine, so its in hard on the road and soft offroad.

Springs are designed for a certain amount of load, hard springs for more load. Choose the coils that best match what you use the vehicle for. A quick comparison can be done between current coils and new aftermarket ones using the number of coils and wire size. Smaller the wire diameter and more coils makes for a softer coil.
