Just installed new oil cooler, flushed out in-rad one and looped it out. Nice and BIG this one! Really hope this sorts out the AT Oil Temp light on AND off road (beach). Will hopefully get time to test it out on the beach this week. Also have the outlet of the cooler on the top and the inlet on the bottom as one of you guys said it works better going up and doesnt allow air locks?

Will upload pics soon. Thinking about drilling some biggish holes in a diagonal square pattern (if you know what I mean) in the chrome of the bumper to allow more air flow to the new cooler as half of it is behind the chrome.

Went for a bush hack yesterday which included giving it a bit (a lot) of shit (i know nothing compared to sand but would still have been enough to set the AT Oil Temp light off again) and went absolutely fine, the truck ran at 78-82ish degrees the whole time. So it is definitely the trans that heats up the engine.

Definitely recommend blanking off the in-rad cooler and getting a big 8cyl cooler in any auto 1kzte!!! Aux fan also worked a treat. 99% sure will be same story on beach now but will post up when i get back out there so may help someone with an auto 1kz in future

EDIT: Went to the beach yesterday, ran like a dream. Temp ranged from only 70-80'C! Compared to the 90-100'C it used to even on the hard stuff! And even hacking back in the extremely soft top stuff bang on high tide she never hit over 90'C. Well pleased.
