Its on a keyed tapered shaft...
two or three legged gear puller..
Either put the bolt back in loose say 4 mm gap... then throw on the gear puller... thru the small holes...pull out against the bolt....
or you can substitute the bolt for a small socket to its not pressing against the threads....
Photo of a similar setup...

I have just pulled mine on the 1KZ and its a similar set up...
Two big screwdrivers each side and it popped off but I have had mine off before so knew it wasn't going to be fused on...

Don't want to break anything.

Have you got the rocket cover off??
As on the cam shaft you should see some big flats up the front that you put a spanner on the hold the camshaft...See in the photo second cam from the left

Ive got the cam cover/belt and stuff off and now the bolt. Just needed to use the rattle gun to loosen the bolt. Im just replacing the water pump, to do that, you need all the other stuff off so you can get to the bolts behind the cam cover.

What a pain in the butt, usually Toyota's have a better design.

Yes Ive aligned all the marks. Ive done a cam belt before on the 1HD-T.

Thanks for all the help/tips!!

Another way is to loosen off bolt, then gentle tap around perimeter of pulley to pop it off the taper. Gentle taps is the key, you don't wanna damage teeth. Doesn't always work, but its quick and easy when it does :D
