LJ71/78 auto questions..

Hi all, I have trolled just about everywhere and can't exactly find what im looking for.. so here goes..

Can someone tell me if there is a 'O' ring in front of the auto input shaft

like in this picture

Diagram number 36212J which is a O ring.. which then leads to my next question.. does the LJ78/71 gear have a grove or recess to allow for it? as I can't quite tell and im throwing my auto in this is some of the little things that need sorting to stop oil flow from the auto to transfer case.. If someone has actually taken one to bits would be great to hear from you.. cheers

To be honest I have overhauled my transfercase but cant recall doing that...
However if I forgot it mine doesnt leak oil either way as there is a seal which runs on the joiner between the two boxes...
Anyhow that seal sits between the bearing and the gear, so inless you have pulled it apart (transfercase) it should still be there doing its job...

all mine i have pulled apart have that o-ring dont think it is for a seal tho just sat on the shaft between the bearing and gear.
