Prado Disc Rotors?

Post by vvilly »

So i went to get my front discs re skimmed, because they were done originally off the vehicle. The dude said he not going to touch them as they are 16-17 mm and minimum should be 19mm.

So i brought some new rotors and took them down to a local engineer to get them re drilled out to suit the 130 hub, as i have done the IFS hub swap.
He stated he will not re drill them as the Dowel hole will be too close to the hub hole.

Here is my question....
Can i buy Disc's that have not been drilled full stop or without dowel holes so i can re drill to new stud pattern.??????

Disc size is 302mm

Thanks Jase

Sorry, not really answering your question, but what discs were on it previous?
If the old ones are the same (as just purchased ones) and drilled the same as you intend on doing to new ones , and it got certified one the current ones, then whats the engineers issue with redrilling?

They still on it atm as it is my daily driver. They are the original 78 series ones that came with the front cut that i brought.
To check them im going to have to pull it all apart then put it all back together was hoping someone might have some knowledge on this

the bolt pattern on the 78 is a different diameter to the 130, and he stated to offset the holes the dowel holes are in the road and he wont do it

Just drill them yourself ...all you need is a good drill press, some sharp drills & some cutting oil.
Use your old discs as a guide.

Don't know that Steve is still doing any of that gear (4wd stuff.co.nz) I'd be getting in touch with him before you just order anything off the website.
