Re: 80 series not coming out of park
If its anything like a surf it'll be part of the brake light circuit check that you have brake lights, possibly just a blown fuse?
Sometimes it's caused by damage to trailer plugs blowing the fuses.

Check the brake light fuse. It will be that. I have this problem on a semi regular basis due to the amount of different dodgy trailers I tow. I found the biggest contributor on the truck to the problem was the snap lock splice terminals that the trailer plug wiring had been spliced into the main loom of the LC. I removed these, soldered and heat shrunk the joints and this helped a lot.

Re: 80 series not coming out of park
I had a simaler problem with mine. When trying to work out the problem i noticed the dome light fuse was blown. I replaced it and the problem went away. After checking the circuit diagram i couldn't work out why this fixed the problem, but it did, and the problem never came back.

has the brake pedal switch failed, or take the covers off from around the leaver ass and check for power at the soliond as that may have failed also? have some wires come off at the foot pedal switch?

will try to locate foot pedal switch tmoz n check the wires. my problem with removing covers from gear shifter is i have to remove all my after market gauges aswell which is goin to be a pain in the ass. normally when foot pedal is depressed u hear a click and lever moves but now have no click.

the surround should just lift up from round the lever and the you should be sble to see in there. that is just off the top of my head, been a long time since i had mine out, and i think there is a screw that you can undo on the handle and 4 screws from around the lever with the P,R,N,D, and so on and that will lift free and will have the light wires under it so be careful.
