pretty bulletproof motor. Bit thirsty in a 1800kg truck, with an auto at least.
I'm told they only have two faults. They prefer regular spark plug renewals(minor, I know).
And , very infrequently, can burn an exhaust valve. Was told this is caused by incorrect valve clearances. My one is approaching 250,000km, so i intend to get the valve clearances checked soon. I doubt there is a problem, but just for peace of mind.
My pre purchase check showed the compression to be very high and dead even, which was promising. I'm trying to change the oil every 5000km, as i want to keep the cam chain and associated parts in very good order.
As to the slight miss at idle, no idea, given the plugs and leads have been done. I'm sort of wondering WHY though? Why did the dealer do that? Was there an issue? Oxygen sensor may be a culprit.

the dealer had them changed but didnt fix the problem. as for fuel usage that doesnt bother me, im used to paying high rego n rucs plus the higher servicing cost so should even out.

when you get it checked over, perhaps use a firm who has a scan tool for the OBD2, to run diagnostics.
