r151f putting itself in 4wd
i have a r151f box in my yn61 surf with ifs and a vvti 1uzfe v8.it has 4wd hooked up to a switch. it disengages but when a drive a short distance it will engauge.the elctric motor on the gear box does not engauge it and the rod that moves forward to engauge it is still in the 2wd position.can any one help please.

How do you disengage it when this happens?
As you describe it, it sounds to be a linkage/selector broken internal of transfer, so as it floats around it will move between 4x- and 2x-.
I'm thinking your gunna havta drain oil and drop off transfer box if there's enough room around trans tunnel, otherwise remove gearbox to split off transfer to crack it open and inspect.
Double check all the electrics first tho, it would suck to pull it all down just to find you've got wires shorting making motor put in into 4x4...
