He works from home, and if you contact him beforehand, he can organise to show you a few types.
I have the Garmin 60Cx, and he spent well over an hour running me through how to use it, the features etc.
Well worth dealing with him.

If you are just after a GPS receiver to plug into your laptop then these are good:

I have one and currently use it with Google Earth through a program called Earth Bridge. I haven't saved up enough money to buy any decent software to go with it yet, but I believe you can use it with the Garmin MapSource software, Tumonz or something like that.
I bought it off that site and use it both on the boat and 4wding and it works really well. It's pretty accurate too.
Note that they have free shipping until 8 Jan.
Check out Dick Smith ....they have refurbished units cheap with a 1 yr warranty, I picked up a Navman 630 today......for the shiny truck....will get another one that is mud proof for the Rugger....
Seems very cool so far....
You can download speed camera locations (points of interest) here http://www.gps-data-team.com/gps-poi.php

My recomendations is a cf gps card, slides into pcmcia slot with an adapter. They go for around 150+ on trademe. Most have an external ariel plug (they cost about $50)
Ive run mine through a pda, with 2 different programs, 1 gives a whole heap of instruments for alt, speed, milage, trip meter, rate of climb etc etc, the other I used for mapping, but had to make maps myself and import them (not hard)
Since doing all that, I have found 2 mapping programs that run on a laptop, that do the tracking and basics etc. If you are over, and Im about, I'll be more than happy to show you what Ive been on about.
Youve got my phone number in a Pm that I sent you a few mins ago, so text me and find out where I am when you get over.
