Jeep parts: US Orders
Hi everyone,
I was wondering where u buy your parts in US? I saw ebay doing for some sellers a calculation for international shipping including importation taxes etc. but not sure if it includes the whole package of taxes... Anyone with experience on buying on US web shops is more than welcome.
Ps: I would love to buy "local" but NZ doesn't seem to have a large stock..

Quadratec and morris 4x4 are the main go to sites for me.
Re: Jeep parts: US Orders
Definitely Quadratec. Used them too many times to remember. Also, got good service from www.summitracing.compmfg wrote:Quadratec and morris 4x4 are the main go to sites for me.
If you find a vendor unable to ship overseas, just use YouShop.co.nz for shipping. Good rates and service.

There are no aussies (omg) who can do better?

Re: Jeep parts: US Orders
Someone is giving you incorrect freight. As I said before, Quadratec / DHL Express charged me USD 125 for a full softtop. I have bought lift springs from them and paid less than $100 freight.frederic26 wrote:Quadratec.. more than 1k for shipping a basket of 2k... and I even don't believe that the importation taxes are included...![]()

As for Aussies, I have found they normally have a big fat mark up on Jeep things.
What exactly are you bringing in? If you know the weight and dimensions, try YouShop.co.NZ to estimate your freight.

Side guards, carpet, soft top, side rocker panels and other insignificant products

Will give a call to Quadratec to know what happened.

EBay is great as well. I use it more and more now.yeti wrote:ebay ......is in nz coin with shipping listed ...buy off there all the time not just jeep shit ....is what it is no real way around it , ya want stuff from states ya pay

I bought Bestop Trektop as a replacement top becuase I didn't like the factory style.
Ebay has it: http://m.ebay.com/itm/Bestop-56801-15-T ... nav=SEARCH
Shipping is around USD 86.
Many many other vendors selling it as well:

Amazon is good with these items as well. You just need to know exact part number and do some homework.

I've found him more expensive than what I can import them for myself. Also his brand selection is somewhat limited.teamorange wrote:what about this local guy http://www.offroadspecialties.co.nz/ i have met him but never bought anything off him, although i know people who have.

For softtop, Besttop is the factory supplier for Jeep and a few highend European car companies. I got genuine Besttop for 2/3rd the price of a softtop from Greg above. His brand was not Besttop either.

Re: Jeep parts: US Orders
Have used ebay for some items but one item has been rejected after been reviewed by their global program etc. Communication from ebay is "zero" and vendor doesn't have anything in his hands (vendor with multi warehouse, ebay has the control blabla etc..).
So got a partial refund without any explanation but not a chance to pay an extra fee to have the product delivered as it seems that is has been flagged as "shipped" but I believe... back to the sender... who even don't know where is the package. I have sent several requested to ebay, zero answer and I can't open a complaint before the official delivery date (... yep.. delivery at the vendor.. hum
)
My guess is that it was 2 kilos above the max allow via ebay for international (where the costs are calculated).
Now, I wonder how I can have this part (cargo carrier) delivered without having again these issues? Total weight must be around 32 kilos.

Re: Jeep parts: US Orders
I can say, never had that problem myself. Generally vendors and eBay are very helpful. Bad rating hurts their business.
What was it that got stuck.

Re: Jeep parts: US Orders
A cargo carrier (Rola 59502) that fits on the hitch, I bought the bag with it. Both items went to the customs etc and then I got the notification that the carrier was rejected because exceeding the size/weight. An hour later, got the notification that it was shipped.. then 2 days later, a partial refund... then delivery status "shipped" and a note that payment is pending, then another note that the vendor has issued a refund for the 2 items... then.... I can continue like that for an hour..TJ wrote:I can say, never had that problem myself. Generally vendors and eBay are very helpful. Bad rating hurts their business.

I think I will still get the bag as I don't see the refund... but the bag without the carrier makes no sense..
I am now trying to get it from Australia, but it sounds like another pin in the ... so I believe I have to find out how to send it from US without paying 3 times the price of the carrier.

You can talk to DHL Express, they would be more reasonable than FedEx or UPS.frederic26 wrote:They refuse as it is above 30 kilos so they advice me to contact DHL/UPS etc..TJ wrote:Use YouShop.CO.nz or buyusa.CO.nz

That is what buyusa.CO.NZ has been doing for years (it's a kiwi business). And YouShop is the same thing but owned by NZpost.silveradoman wrote:kiwi shipping set up an account, ship it to their california depo and they send it here easy as. most usa shops have free ground freighting any. thats how you get around shops not sending internationaly too. hurry up

Re: Jeep parts: US Orders
Kiwi Shipping asked me $ 600 to ship the part to my house.. so I found another solution via Australia.. part must show up in 4-6 weeks
In the meantime, I got the bag from ebay... funny.
