Im 15 and just getting into 4x4, i already own a toyota hilux but it has craked head now and feel like starting anew with something different, but just cant decide between a Toyota Landcruiser or a Nissan Safari, any advice would be much appreciated
the most important thing to look for whichever one you get is something in good nick that dosent need any work done on it coz if your only 15 money is hard to come by to fix it up
yea hoping to get some sort of money from selling the hilux for parts and a Sj413 with a datsun 1200 in it that ive got. oh, and i can work on the old mans farm. so, what would you advise
but to be more helpfull.... they are both good solid trucks, which do you like better ? thats more of the answer you need to find out, safari vs cruiser....... if you like the look of the saf more then get the saf, if you like the look of a cruiser get the cruiser (get the cruiser)
If you already know everything, DON'T ask bloody questions!!
Something without a turbo because the insurance company won't cover you if it has a turbo. They don't care whether it's petrol or diesel .Unless you have parents who just give you what you want . There is alot of them out there.
You didn't waste time getting online. Shit, I only showed you today! It took me weeks before I posted.
One good thing about the safari is that your good bastard uncle and his mate already have them, so there's a little bit of experience and a whole lot of hori solutions available right at hand.
basics wrote:the good thing about cruisers is every ones had one or knows somthing abou them, so if you get stuck modding it there always people to help out
Basics makes a good point here. Perhaps a SWB BJ70 would be you.
Note: both of Dino's current trucks are dead rego and being 15, it'd be preferable to have a near standard truck for road use too that's not heavy on insurance..

that changes things, sell it for parts and spend the cash on good 70 series cruiser.

hmmmmmmm, dunno what price wagons are down your way, but you could struggle to get a decent one for that price. you may need another grand or two and then you'll be in.
I may be wrong and someone may know of something cheap and good for you. good luck.

The bloke I bought that 70 series flat deck off recently has a heap of Landcruisers and bits and pieces about. I'll have a yarn to him this week for you. It'd be nice to get something complete and unmolested though.
