LN130 radiator support panel mod

Post by Mattman »

To fit the larger 16in electric fan I have had to remove the vertical support strut between the top and bottom sections and also cut away the bottom section between the left and right guards.

Does this section need reinforcing? Once I have my fan fitted I can likely add some reinforcing back in.

I would hate for the support panel to move and damage the radiator.

Cheers

i didnt and have had no problems i did what you have done, the bolts to chassis hold it all in palce the only thing i found was that the latch where the bonnet closes on bends and wont latch, why have you had to put fan in there manuel fan does the job and if not drill a hole through it and bolt the clutched fan solded

Thanks for the reply.

I have a 1UZ in my Surf and it needs all the cooling it can get.

I used to have two 10in units but a decent single 16in will outflow and provide greater coverage.

Cheers

Yeah I am a little worried that it will still get hot.

I have a new radiator and have a Legacy scoop to fit to try and vent the engine bay of heat.

Yeah the sand is a killer for sure.

Got any pics of your engine bay?

Create a user photo album and then you can insert the pictures as an img link in a forum post.

You need to view the picture and right click on it and select image properties. You can then copy the file name to use as the img.

Umm, anything really. I am sure others would like to look at your truck.
