LN106 High Lift Jack Points and Tow Hooks

Post by penetrator »

Just wondering if anyone on here has any pictures of high lift jack points they have made up for their hilux utes? Im looking at putting some on mine but the rear towball bar is located slightly under the tray and I havent quite figured out how to do them on the front yet either.

Also i need to get a couple of tow hooks sorted out but not too sure where to mount the rear one. I think i might also need to get an enginner to drill and tap a couple of holes in the front as tow hooks wont fit in as there is a bullbar bolted (and half welded) into those holes - is it ok to drill more holes in this part of the chassis / structure?

its more stable to hi-lift off the sides of the vehicle, if you jack the front or back the vehicle tries to step to the side once both wheels come off the ground :?

some slider bars under your sills is a good low point to jack from

yeah I used to have high lift jack points on my surf that Mike made up for me when i lived in CHCH and i had one on each side at the front and then could jack off the rear bar at either end of this as well for stabillity.

Was thinking of getting something welded up by an engineer off the current rear bar that loops around towards the rear wheels so i can jack on the side at the back. not quite sure about the front though - Do you have sliders Sadam?

Ahhhh.... one day :? if I ever get around to putting my PTO on the only place I can re-run the exhausts is on the outside of the chassis rails so I've left slider bars on the back burner :!:

I just jack off the steps welded to the tray behind the cab, not the best place but its relatively stable and seems to cope with the 2 1/2 tons
