Any 2 door utes out there
I'm planning to convert the 2 door wagon into a singl cab ute. I was wondering if anyone has done this already and if there was any major concerns involved. I'm also planning to bob the tail to inprove departure angle so again with the seeking advice thing. Thanks.

Theres a couple floating round here now. Rangerat did an awesome write up on his 2 door chop. Theres 8 parts he wrote starting here (complete with pictures etc)

I bought a 2 door ute (with a dirty diesel in it). Is certified but the guy that did it did not do a very pretty job.

When my Zuk stops taking up time I will start on tidying it up (extend cab/drop in a P76 which is sitting in one of my donor vehicles etc etc) Considered bobtailing this when we start on it, but losing all the loadspace and moving fuel tank sort of turned me off. Having seen Rangies like Mike Smiths in the winch challenges do well without bob tailing I though we may as well keep the length - maybe a little trim underneath and a fairly heavy duty bumper....
A few good articles on UK based sites (just do a search under bobbed Range rovers on google.
cheers

I can't give you any first hand advise.... haven't done it yet, but i can tell ya what the local certifiyer told me
Chopping the roof dosn't require a welding certificate, but.... your welds have to be inspected and be of a resumble quality, that means no undercutting holes etc
When welding the pannels together he "recomended" a backing strip, no butt welds.
There is one thing that might help... put a roll cage as well this will require certification and you'll have to go to some registered comp/club meets each year
buracracy
As for the bob, no problems so long as you are cutting behind the rear suspension mounts
But I have noticed some certifyers are better to deal with than others.
Pay to talk to the local clubs, they'll know
