change of plans, for what i was going to spend on setting truck up for 33s and the headache involved plus even with the 33s on, not a hell of more height at diff to warrant the cash spend... so have ordered some kumho kl71 31s and are pricing winches. runva seem the go for all ill need it for..so for the price of one mod i get two and no headache 8) o and brought tyres on tm last night at about 10pm, and about 2 this afo they are here.... sweet. ......... Hi Yeti,

I have been toying with the idea of KL71's in a 33" for our wrangler, thats if i can find some 15x8's. let us know how they go! fair to say they have had some great reviews.

Cheers
Rod

Good choice Wayne! They were pretty good on my TJ and the reviews are all good, hence I went for them on the XJ last week as you know. They also look the mutt's IMO.

Hi Wayne,

No panice with link. I see they are on TM etc. I tend to shop around for months and over research everything, xj will confirm this, then make a decision. Just pop a note in here once you have thrown your truck in the mud etc and let us know how you get on. Our TJ is currently sitting on the factory rims with 31" Coopers. Although not my first choice in size or manufacturer they have been good to date.
I will look forward to hearing how they go!

Cheers
Rod

Not much I wouldn't imagine. Will see! I am still trying to track down some resonably priced rims, if you should hear of any. One hurdle at a time!

Cant find the minutes of the meeting you were after either, will have a thorough search for you tomorrow.

theyre not, insurance company is playing hardball. should find out monday what theyre going to do. BNZ might be one client less come monday arvo.

Ive spoken to two case officers, a branch manager, an assessor and an investigator (twice).

First theyve tried to work the "but you were offroad" line. pointed out to them that my policy doesnt stipulate anytihg about location, and that if theyre going to insure a 4x4 they must have some expectation that its going to be used offroad.

From there they tried the "but it was at an event" angle, to which i responded that it was not an official club run, or if it was, it was not a part of a club i belonged too, that i was not paid to be, nor did i pay, to be there, there was no competition, and there was no advertising. IE there was no commercial benefit/use in doing what i was doing. told them that it was purchased for family camping stuff, which we do at pureora, minginui and up north etc, then I was asked if my family was with me in the vehicle last saturday...... go figure, i had to laugh at that lame attempt.

Now theyre appear to be trying the "undeclared mods" avenue. They have asked for what mods were on it when purchased, when it was purchased, and the value of any mods done since. I have complied with a spreadsheet, offering full disclosure. The assessor when he came around didnt take any pics of the damage, but took plenty of the tyres, bars, sliders, winch....

We will see what happens, my lawyer has provided me some advise.
I know exactly what my policy states, and in my opinion, i am covered.
