Thought I'd but this in Nissan section as well as weekends achievments

Liftin rear shock mounts

started rear shock mount Lift

Idear is to lift rear shock mounts so its less likely to get bashed on stuff which it does do and side benefit being it well let the wheel drop alittle further for better artic.I have measured shock to make sure it wont bottom out.

Std mount before work started VVV

Image

Mount cut off with cutting disc, cut approx 40mm out of middle section of mount and reused lower section which was welded back to diff. VVV

Lower section welded back in place VVV

Only done right side you should be able to see the differance from left, well do left side this weekend.hardest part was making sure lower section pin was correct alignment so it wont slog out the shock seals.well give it a flex test on weekend so if theres any noticeable change.

Welded left side in place just need to add bracing at some stage for extra strenght, have made a calculation error mainly due to shock being on a angle, lifted mount approx 40mm which only gives the shock about 25mm extra drop so only a small gain maybe 35mm at wheel. dum ass ...spring is still tight in saddle

Went down river for a quick flex test, factory sway bar disconnected at control lever(still limits alittle)left rear tyre still not touching inner guard,35psi in tyres, is better for sure but probley could have got abit more out of it.worth while doing that's for sure.
