New Single cab v8 diesel

Post by extreme_treeman »

Hey all.....I have acquired the new single cab diesel for work.....it has the high country package in it...but as far as I can tell...all that is is diff locks and a snorkel as far as I can tell.

I was going to put 33inch tyres from my hilux on it....but they rub on some sort of sterring arm that it has....on full lock...(hows that for a technical term,....lol).

Questions...what are the biggst tyres that I can fit?...And is the steering arm thing over come by wheels that are 'offset' ? I'm not surewhat that is...but guess thats what its for with the wheels i see for sale.

What are my choices lift kit wise?

\And I would like to lift the rear tray a couple of inches to give me some more clearance at the back....anyone doen this ....looks liek I would just need some sort of spacers?

Thanks in advance.

Umm that really depends on what the "single cab v8 diesel" is you are talking about?

I'm guessing a Toyota LandCruiser................ or a Patrol (although I can't recall seeing any in NZ)

Do Hilux have a V8 option? Don't think so but hey i have been known to be wrong before

Cumon, help us out here lol

hi deck spacers will work fine, we had a troopy at work with 285/85/16 on it which are about 33" so with the right offset rims they should fit,in aussie they have up to 6" lifts for them cheers tim

Pretty sure this fella is talking about the new 70 series 4500 V8 diesel.
Deck is no worries, spacers will work fine. Are these rigs coil front and leaf rear? If so you should be able to get some coils made for the front (if they don't already exist in lifted form), and I would think that the rear spring packs are as per the older model, so once again no issues there lifting it up. You will have to be aware that where your old "lux went on 33"s, is in all likelihood not where the cruiser will be able to go. (bigger diff heads dragging in the dirt, and if leafs on back, all the associated shit with them hanging down under axles).
Ugly is a state of mind..... and the state of my truck!

might find that it has 16 inch rims and with the high country pack it also gives it rear discs ,which (if like late 80 series)has the bigger discs so it makes it very tight to fit 15 inch rims on
