difference between 2wd and 4wd

gidday guys.
just wondering what's the diffrince between 2wd hilux and 4wd surf chassis?. .
obviously 4wd and 2wd, but mounting brackets etc?

ive got a mate that has a 88 surf body, i want to put a 2wd chassis under it.

just wanting to know how many of the mounting brackets are in the wrong places etc.

that was done in performance car mag a few years ago, i think they have a website with build details etc so might be worth looking at.
Are you building a mini truck on air bags or something?

not on bags, but just a daily driver/tow truck for the 86, if i end up doing anything to it

there use to be a chap here in gizzy that did crazy things to trucks. he had a surf body on a 2wd drive chassis and had a 289 mustang motor in it, then as another project had an isuzu mu with a p76 in it. so i guess can be done.

check out the white surf on trade me with the hilux chassis for sale, its friken gangsta as, real low, hes done a real good job, got pics of the chassis all painted up, talk to him

Would a 92 4wd Chassis do?
70 series prado (KZJ78) and 90 Series Prado (KZJ95)

lol. i would use my current chassis if i was going to keep it 4wd. wouldnt get it low enouth with 4wd chassis

for memary the mounts are all the same bar the deck mounts. my mate was the one who did the one on performance car its freeken low tail gate hits ya shins when open
