FJ40 LSD ?

Post by DJ »

Hi all
as the subject title suggests is there such a thing as a LSD the fits a FJ 40 diff. I think its and early type as its got drum brake. Or what LSD will fit this diff ? Has anyone got an adaptor bell housing for a 4speed (early Hf 55 ) to SB ford or chev ?
thanks

A crusier lsd will fit but it'll need to be a full floater housing

is your diff a semi or full floater

do you have a torque arm of rear diff

and how much lead do ya have in ya right foot

My ol 40 had a very tight LSD in the rear and no torque arm, it was good enough to be able to drift on the road

never had any problems until it was sold and something went bang as soon as the new owner took possession

A full floater has a removable hub on the end of the axle

mine is a semi float diff ans no torque arm
im pretty heavy footed but would probably back off slightly with not having to go hard to get thru things but yeah its all a learning game i guess
