prototype 1
has it was looking like a bastard to install nuts inside the chassis i went the other way and bolted it to the stock to point.
a bit of angle iron bolted onto stock nuts in the chassis.
had thought of welding an angle bit into the angle iron to strengthen it for sideway loading but i'm hoping just the big thickness is enough for the use i'll ever give it.

had problems with the stock nuts in the chassis. ended up having to tap them out to 12mm x1.75pitch which meant the bolt heads where bigger and fouled the hook. hence had to bolt the hook to the other side.

what factory hook ?

i think one of the patrol ones fit. tho i prefer one that will straiten out rather than break the welds off.

i think there was a factory hook for the D40 (not sure about D22) which was discontinued and after seeing the pics of the damage it does to the chassis i can see why its not made any more. (it sticks out causing leverage which pulls one bolt out and pushes the other end in)

Used factory hooks for years on my Terrano, no problems or issues.
