Attaching whinch rope to Gew9000
Runva Gew9000 on vehicle second hand but not used.Had a wire rope for it and now fitting nylon rope.Can anyone tell me the correct way to start the rope on the drum? There is a small 10mm hole on each side of the drum with a 4mm threaded hole next to it.Does the rope go into the hole and attach behind the drum with the drum seperated to fit out of sight or should it have a bracket and just attach at the side of the drum somehow not getting caught up in operation?

Thread the rope into the hole and then tie a knot in the back side so it cant pull back through
