89onwards hilux body on 70series lwb chassis..

Hey..

Have a long wheel base kzj78 cruiser with a beaten up old body.
Has been thinking a bit lately about a hilux cab n deck conversion on the cruiser chassis n have coil sprung etc, my trucks the 1kz model..has any one ever heard or seen of this happening? Or got pics or info as to wats involved?

That would be a good conversion and with the length of the 78 chassis you could even use a Xtra cab lux with a wellside if you wanted, you would obviously need to shift or fab up new body and deck mounts.

With the short 1KZ you could fit the lux cab further back to get the front axle forward were you want it and after shortening the chassis behind the rear diff and bobbing the deck (if thats your thing) you could have a good departure angle aswell. :)

But i haven't seen it done yet.

have seen a SWB prado, not sure if it's a kzj ot lj chassis with a surf 2 door body cut down to cab on it, also has 1uz power upgrade.
It is a comp truck there will be a few pics around of it, will see if I can find some. have wondered about cutting the body down on my LWB kzj then shortning the chassis a bit
