Last night I finally got around to changing my glow plugs - one had failed and another was much higher resistance than the other two, so I figured I might as well change the lot since the other two will have been getting a hard time from higher voltage.
Plug change was easy, but then I decided to reinsulate the bus bar and the other bar that connects onto it. I disconnected the second bar and completely forgot to take note of where it sat relative to the other terminal on the stud, and the insulating washer.
My initial assumption turned out to be wrong (terminal on bottom, then insulating washer, then bar that joins onto bus bar. Fuse blew, I tried to get fuse out (for about half an hour), then eventually realised the fuse bolts in underneath the fuse box!
Does anyone know what order these go on? I now think due to the size of the hole in the terminals that they both go beneath the insulating washer, but not sure what the second terminal is actually connected to and don't want to keep blowing fuses.
oh yeah, its a Toyota Hilux 1988 LN65 with 2L
Urgent glow plug question
Re: Urgent glow plug question
The stepped insulator goes over the stud first, then the bar, then the power terminal, then the insulator block, then the flat washer and nut.
Re: Urgent glow plug question
Cheers heaps for that. In the end I came to that conclusion but reassuring to know it's right
