then SAS.
Other than trimming your bumpstops and removing your sway bar, there isn't a lot you can do

na the more flex you get from the ifs the bigger the angle on the cv's and the more you shag them. Better to accept the fact that they just don't flex and 10mm more isn't really going to change that. Buy a front locker and lifting a front wheel won't matter aqs much.
Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level then beat you with experiance!

There are about 2-3 times max that I have wished I had a SAS in my surf in the 5 years I've owned it. The front locker has seen me through the other 99.7% of 4wding with ease, the other times just required more thought to get through. I still have no desire to SAS it, the IFS is comfortable, easy to fix and parts are so cheap or free (because everyone else is sasing them they dont want the parts)

I put twin auto lockers in 4-5 years ago and have had the best touring 4wd I could have ever wanted.

just my 2c.

I agree ....i love my IFS.
Not had any problems ...Ive got a rear locker that makes my surf so much more capable.
I just love driving through stuff that other much more capable vehicles get stuck in !

There was a posting on an Oz forum a few years back about making spacers to go between the top a-arm and the ball joint which gave them a better range of motion - someone here made some... have a search around, there were pics of it as well.

Mike, you only put the rear one in for drifting on gravel roads

Worzel made someball joint spacers ...but they wont actually give you anymore "flex" only make it higher means you can get some lift with out having to adjust the torsion bars.
The only way to get more flex is to trim the bump stops & thats illegal if you still want to drive it on the road.

I know leafs is cheaper easier but sorry I totally disagree with it.

Coils front and rear or keep it ifs.
Personally dont see advantage of leafs over ifs

With 35s and short shocks this is how mine flexs, now with longer shock (sorry no photo) be more but yer cant see leafs getting the same flex and ride

You driven one? Flex is amazing and on road handling is at least as good as when it was ifs.

Okay, that's fine, but 5-7 inches of travel(ifs) can never compete with the almost limitless travel that can be achieved with a solid front axle ( coil or leaf) :D

Why?
If from a road going point of view I get it,(comfort wise etc)
but you can get as much (and sometimes more)artic from leaf springs as you can from coils.
And if anyone needs proof of that, they should remember suprasurfs last truck (and there are still plenty of people on here that were around then!)

The yanks seem to be ripping out the coils and leaf springing the whole truck, not saying that is right or wrong, but if you are just going to bang a front end in from a coiled playdoh (or similar) using factory arms and mounts then you are only going to get the equivelant travel (basically) that one of these rigs offers which is not great imo.

To link up a front end properly requires a lot of time studying geometry etc for your particualr purpose. But to bang a set of cart springs in is relatively easy and making a spring pack to work is pretty straight forward.

Each to their own though.
Ugly is a state of mind..... and the state of my truck!

Yer mine is a coil set up, and will always flex more than ifs
Leaf gives (in my opnion) a harsher ride and less flex than a coil set up.

But at the end of the day it up to the person and there budget

also think about this
vx cruiser coil f and r
70 series flat deck coils front leaf rear,

if you can tell me a manifacture that does leaf in front and coil rear from factory i would be dumb founded, they do suspension set ups like it for a reason
