Guys, I bought a SWB 40 with 350 Chevy in it a few months back and goes like a cut cat...........but i noticed that it does not have an alternator light any where? Did the 40 come out with one? Looked in the cluster and no light there but there is a twin red light set up to ther left or which one has a hand brake light but the other is empty and cannot see any thing dngling that might go in there.
Soooooooooo how do i wire upa complete new bright light that I can mount to the dash to show the belt has hopped orr or alt. died etc? I have 3 wires on a small plau of which 2 are show 6 and 7 odd volts while running. Is it one of these that would trigger a 5 pin replay to hold it open under voltage and then close to fire up the alt light when and if the alt died?
Lots of word but I have Google the old banger to death today..................

Re: JF 40 Alternator help.
All guys got it sorted. Ingition positive to one side of bulb, blue wire from alt. to the other. When it stops working the alt goes to eath thereby lighting the bub and when it charges it send positive to the other side of the bulb so there the bulb goes off. Easy!
