lower gearing for sj410b

hay there just curious on my options for getting lower gearing for my sj410 im running tractor grips and by jesus they can get some placed but unfortunately i tgot stuck in a real clay bog hole and got totally bogged cause the truck couldn't turn the tyres?i have the model with the front disk brakes and 4wd light on the transfer case.is it possible for me to get a 413 transfer case and do a roklobster?or am i better of buying a gearing kit for over the states and installing those?

a rock lobster or 4.16 gear ser is made from cutting and welding half 413,half 410 counter gear together. and then mix and match some gears .
. machining of the hardened gear is expensive ,due to cutting head use .

But you have the hard part find , the 84 410 transfercase, so proborbly a bit cheaper than imported gears.

cool mate thanks for that.so will any 413 transfer case do?im not really mechanically minded when it comes to transfer gears etc.is there any one out there that specializes in doing these mods?and if theres any one out there that wants to part with a transfer case ready to go bolt in owl be keen to purchase it.thanks

Or you could sell your current transfer case as they are quite desirable (I'm looking for one) and buy some transfer gears from the US. This would give you a greater range of gearing options to choose from depending on what size your tyres are. :wink:

if i do that that means owl have to buy another transfer case?. i thnk my best option will be to mix and match gears and make a roklobster?just need a contact to find out who could make it for me now???

If you decide to do the rocklobster I have a 413 case here that I need
to sell to fund other things just pm me if you want it.

They are around, one just sold recently on T/ME for $90.

is there any one out there that knows of any one that can do the machining and welding of the gear needed for a rock hopper transfer case?i have just picked up a 413 transfer case so im going with a rockhopper 4.16 thanks

where abouts are you located ?
Any decent engineering shop should be able to machine and tig weld the gear together.

im located in gisborne.just fort it mite be easyer if i sent it to sum one that has done it before thats all
