I have repaired the cab, put it all back together, cleaned the radiator core, new thermostat, water pump is near new and fired it up. It runs sweet but the bottom radiator tank and hose aren't getting hot. As far as I can tell the thermostat is back in the same way as the old one but the water doesn't seem to be circulating. Checked the thermostat in hot water and it works fine.
Initially the temp gauge shot up to the red but now is staying around the middle of its range of movement. After 20 mins of driving the bottom tank and hose is still cold and top tank, hose and heater hoses are hot.
Doesn't seem right but its not boiling so is there some other problem like air in the system?
I'm confused as ..... does anyone have any ideas what the problem might be?
Thanks,
John

Re: LN 65 3y cooling question
FWIW the water wasn't circulating because of cavitation caused by corrosion in the water pump housing aroung the area where the inmpellor runs... if that makes sense
