I've bought a set of Coby extractors (sold the other car you see ).

I'm going to do a thread on how to mount them, so will take photos as I go.

My cat converter has previously been removed, so the plan at this stage is:
Cut standard exhaust back if/where required.
Source two short lengths of steel tube (which will fit over the exhaust pipes) and weld a flange to connect them.
Weld the length of tube over the end of the extractor pipe/beginning of existing pipe.

This should allow me to remove the exhaust manifold if required, without having to chop the pipe or remove the full exhaust.

Any tips will be appreciated, I figure this should be a fairly simple way installing the new extractors.

Make sure you drill your O2 sensor hole BEFORE you fit them (customer tried to be smart & fit his own, ruined an O2 sensor trying to screw it in & 'modifying it' to fit ahem....

That & dont break any studs / fit a new manifold gasket

Start spraying the nuts on the exhaust studs with CRC now, spray them again every few hours, practically impossible to get them off if you don't!

Thanks mate, I think standard exhaust is 2" though??

was just a picture and a price comparison to others, if you got a 2.25 inch or sumthn would slip over and make life so much easier to line up and weld etc

For reference, this seller seems to do most sizes and are cheap as.
Will order the 2.25" once confirmed I need 2"

Craig from Mudbits recommends putting a 250mm resonator within 1m of the manifold - has anyone here done this?
I figure I'll go to Magoo Mufflers this weekend and get a flange as well as the resonator

yea I got a resonator just after the dump on the extractors. then heads into a M&H muffler. It is 2.25" exhaust and is actually quite quiet. Intake noise from the snorkel is louder.

Shiny new extractors just arrived

I'm going to try them without a muffler up front and see how it goes, if it's too raspy and loud I'll put one in.

This will be a job for the weekend so I'll update and post some pics then
