information/help/advice needed

Post by samewan »

hi Guys/Girls

I have a ln130 2 door variant with a 2.4.At the moment it has 2 in sus lift a 2 inch body and a set of semi worn semi new 33s ,I have had the normal problems with my my truck thats done 195xxx ks blown diff, blown cv.

I had my first proper run in my truck over the weekend because of the problems I have had and i loved it even managed to pull out a Nissan  .I am looking at getting more "Ass on seat time" and slowly doing up my truck at the same time .I have a list of mods i would like to do before winter roles around.

I want
1.rated hooks.
1.snorkel.
2.manual hubs.
3.wield up front diff airlock rear diff.
4.wield up my bullbar/rear bar.
5.extend shocks
(there are two 1s because they are equally as important )

Is there anything I am Missing or need to add? Or if you have any of the stuff above give us a yell :) . In the long run i would love do the following .
6.1kz swap
7.solid axel swap
8.35s

But I am starting pre trade automotive engineering course and wont have the money this year I feel.

Thanks greatly for your help.

Sam.

Then you might want to save up for a bit longer an get an air locker in the rear too, welded front diff will leave you with no truck if you hit a slippery, off camber hill and you slide into something.

I was looking into this option also, but after hearing the stories and reasons of why not to do it, decided it wasnt the best idea.

You could look at a mechanical locker for the front.

Yup, once hubs are unlocked the front shafts dont spin, but if your in 4wd and you go down a hill or an offcamber slope then you will have no steering and can slide into things.

wouldnt putting a 5L and using the turbo off the 2.4 save a hell of a lot of work? as the 1kz has different engine mounts doesnt it?

That is going to be a great truck.
I have a lock right locker in the front and wold not dream of driving the streets with it. Even off road it is a hand full. however gets you place's you shouldn't go lol.

But free wheeling hubs will sort that.

I personally would also consider bead lock's wheel's but where you draw the line is up to you. have fun
Latest mod, pin stripes, hit the same branch I did on the way in on the way out.

3. Diff Beathers
4. Snorkel
5. Bar Work
6. Learn How to drive it
7. Rear Auto Locker

engines mounts are 40 mm rear from what I have heard and because the cheapest 5l on tardme is 3500 were I could get a half decent 1kz for 2500 and spend the rest on mods mech fuel pump ect and the 5l with a 2.4 turbo you are geting factory 1kz power from what I have been told ?
