Anyone able to help out with correct wiring for the transfer case solenoid?I'm told my gearbox and t-case were from an LN130 Surf, the box being an R151f. I'm fitting the box behind a 350 chevy in a mid '80's Hilux ute.
I've got the gearbox on the bench and have hooked it up to a battery. It seems as though by reversing the polarity on two of the wires into the 4x4 solenoid the unit is either engaged or disengaged, and stays the way you left it even, when the power is disconnected. Am I on the right track, and if so how does the '4x4 on/off' switch manage to reverse polarity????
There are a total of 5 wires coming out of the unit so perhaps some of them do something clever that my simple brain has missed. (I figured they might be for for auto hubs/diff release)
Any help gratefully received.

The easiest way is to get the 4wd control box from a surf and wire it up.
If you get the plug (with a bit of length on the wires) simply reconnect those 5 wires, then its power, ground and switch. so only 8 wires needed all up.
You don't need speed inputs or anything else. If you want to know what the colours are for power etc let me know.
