Landcruiser advise

Post by mikew »

Hi all

Iv got the landcruiser bug back and looking to get a 70 series.
Have had a few 40's but looking for a bit more of a longer distance mission setup, so road manner of a 70 will be an improvement over the 40's.....

Have been looking at trademe and eyed up a few but they are all over the place, so through I see if anyone got any advise on the following selection:

http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/toyota/landcruiser/auction-447362845.htm

http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/toyota/landcruiser/auction-448283311.htm

Or for a bit more go maybe???

Any others out these that would be worth looking at???

Have always had bj40's but through MWB would be better for camping trips etc, what are they like offroad compared to SWB?

Thanks heaps for the help

Mike

MWB is a good all round size. Go for the FRP Diesel with Diff Locks. They are fetching higher price than they did two years ago :( . FITZY.

Without a doubt, go the second option. MWB with lockers.

Option two for sure, I loved my mwb before I chopped it lol, if I was to build a tourer that's what I'd go with

Getting hard to find in good condition tho, watch for surface rust or signs of repair around the sills, under the carpet near the rear mounts for front seats an the front mounts for the rear seats, moisture gets in an they rust between the panels, well pretty much anywhere there's a double skin
Also pull out the tail lights if ya can ( 3 screws each) there could be a nasty rusty surprise in there too

That matt black one with the commo v6 has been on tm at pretty much the same price for around 2 years
Didn't barbie drive a jeep??
