80 series cruiser 1HDT question

Post by Diorama »

Off the intake cross over pipe there is a small hose that comes off with several tees in it. One goes to 2 switches under the bonnet. I am assumming they are the high and low boost switches. From there it Tee's off and goes through a grommet in the fire wall. While wiring in my new gauges and looking for a good place to connect my boost gauge sender I found the end of this small hose under the dash not connected to anything. It had been terminated with a screw in the end so it didn't leak. Where would this hose originally come from. I am concerned as when I bought the vehicle the fuel had been turned right up so I expect this hose was terminated to bypass something.

Most likely would have been for a boost gauge or something, from factory it shouldnt have been run inside

It looks original. The hose is identical to all the others on the truck and the grommet through the fire wall looks like from factory. If anyone with an early 80 series could look under there bonnet and see if they have this hose going through the fire wall. Its just above and to the right of the steering shaft looking at the fire wall from the vehicle front.

Sounds like it should go to the sensor for OK/Fail turbo indicator on the dash.
