KZN130 leaking rear diff
Hi there Ive recently bought a 1995 SSRX Surf and am starting to get problems with the diff leaking a lot of oil. At first it started out being very noisy, but it just had a little oil in it, I drained it and refilled it; the oil that came out was a bit milky. Now the noise is gone but its leaking real bad. A drop every 30 mins would be my guess. Also just recently Ive noticed its leaking oil (I think its oil??) onto the right rear rim. What to do? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

At a guess noisy and low oil = has been leaking out from somwhere and not topped up.
Milky oil = it has water in it poss through where oil leaked out from or breather on top of diff
now you have topped up oil there is more to slosh round and also to leak out and make problem more visual.
oil on rim usually means lip seal has chewed out, also wheel bearing may not be in "best" con / also cld be fine. Whenever I have done 1 side (seal and bearing) I have always done the other just cos. Is this the only place its leaking from or around the head as well? if head is leaking degrease around it to see if it is the "gasket" seal where the diff head bolts into the housing or the lip seal on the nugget output? to driveshaft.

Yeah thanks for that, the axle seal needed replacing and also the diff breather was blocked possibly causing the leaking diff, a pressure difference maybe? cleaned it up so time will tell
