We've had 2 Vn autos do exactly the same thing in the Navara. Binned em

I think possibly the Navara needs a bigger cooler which is happening at the moment as we are installing a whole new cooling system on it

Hey Tom yea your right about the cooling system, may have to look at adding in a fan of some kind as when I got stuck on the godley trip I could hear the trans fluid boiling which probley didn't help the gearbox much

got new box now just gotta fit in.

Hey mate,Are you running a small separate fan on the trans cooler that just runs off a switch?

My setup, radiator on back with large fan setup on backside of radiator sucking thru radiator set on a thermal switch so dosnt run all the time. on front of radiator a smallsh fan runs full time pushing air thru radiator providing enough cooling for light running conditions. now on the air drawing side of the smaller fan I have my trans cooler so it gets a small amount of air flow over it all the time. works well.

fans either need there own thermal switch or run as soon as you turn ignition on. if you have to manually switch on sooner or later your going to forget. But its ok the exploding radiator usualy reminds people lol
