1KZTE inlet manifold heater Removal.

Post by Henry »

Hi

My 1KZTE has a heater just above the inlet manifold. It is piped to the block just below. It is heated by water from the water jacket.

Why did toyota do this? I though heating the air just before the inlet manifold would be a bad thing.

Can I just bypass the heater? Does it cause any issues?

Henry.

Hi Yah Henry
Some of our 1KZTE's were winter spec from Japan...I suppose it stops the butterfly's from freezing....
I had mine disconnected for years...Due intercooler install and remote throttle body...
I just looped the hose back on itself at the block.... Essentially by passing the throttle body.
