hey guys im a mechanic and ive got a kzn130 I fukn hate my boss so wouldn't bother taking my truck to my work for a wof haha but it has no cert and 33s and a 2 inch lift what ya guys think ? think I need a cert or what ?
I asked a wof inspector he said its fine aslong as the steering shaft is standy
then the next guy I asked he said na cert or no wof
has had a wof as is heaps of times from last owner

my Wof guy says the most recent rules states any sort of body lift of any kind needs a cert, but you are legally allowed up to 50mm spring lift, and keep quiet on the 33's but if the speedo is pretty close +/- 5k's should be all good man, i had a 2" lift on my isuzu wizard and 32's and no cert, passed wof all good. i think standard size tyres for those is 30". just a body lift will raise questions.

Couple of areas to consider just on the tyres/rims. Need to know what lift has been done for more comments.
Rules state:
LVV cert not required if:
the tyres:
– have an outer circumference that is no more than 5% greater than OE, and
– are an appropriate selection for rim width, and
– have tread that does not extend beyond the original or modified body panels or guard extension
Key one for 4x4s changing rims
Wheels:
– protrudes beyond the unmodified original body panels, but is covered by aftermarket or modified mudguard extensions or modified body panels, and the track width has increased by no more than 25mm from OE.

Have a real good read here. Track width can increase more than 25mm from OE (without needing cert) BUT only if the tyres don't protrude past original bodylines. If modified mudguards are needed (to cover tread), then the 25mm track width comes into play. Its very trickily worded in there.

You can get a WOF with your mods but if they arn't legit and the boys n blue pull you over - get their check list out and you dont tick all the boxes then your no better off than an skid car that's too close to the road with wide rims... was talking to a dude across the road (That has one) and bugger me now apparently a front mount intercooler now needs a 3hundy cert

My reg wof guy wouldn't,t give mine a wof with drop boxes, the last mode before engine was rebuilt,
With cert wof is no problem,
But strange to see 75mm lift , 33" tyres no problem turbo , no problem
Well engineered drop boxes then No wof with those

its far too biased these days with wofs,
my terrano used to pass warrents with 2 inch suspension lift, 2 inch body lift (before i really knew about certification) at one garage, new guy was hired next minute failing all over the show.
also noticed between 3 different garages down here before i did mods to the terrano,
2 of them failed on a leaking exhaust flexi,
1 failed on rust in rear door
1 failed for wheel alignment
2 failed for too much wear on outside of tyre.
lest goes on but its rediculous, hopefully this new wof boo will get everyone back into line
just recently my car passed a warrent, swapped the tyres around and relised my control arm bushes are starting to split and perish.
id much rather have know that beforehand.

it passed its warrant no worries just little things like balljoints both lowers and loose mirror and tow bar so that's all good got a warrant today
