Landcruiser 80 series Topmount

Post by hachi_roku »

Hey guys,

Well i finally bit the bullet and brought an Intercooler kit for the 80, ordered it last week and it arrived yesterday..

HPD Top mount intercooler with fan, scoop and fitting etc.. i spoke to warren at 4wd bits last week about his kit but just didnt like the way it looked, and for pretty much the same money this looks alot tidier.
Excuse the pics, i only had my cell handy so just snapped a couple..

was a nice bit of kit, i had already decided i wasnt going to use the bonnet scoop as i wasnt a fan.. too small for the 80 series so i ordered up a UBS69 Bighorn Bonnet scoop and i think it looks the part.

Took about 3 hours to fit the cooler and scoop etc as i was trying to be a little careful with mounting the scoop in the bonnet.

So yeh, im stoked with the result... and when i put the 35's on the 80 it killed the power and this has made it a truck i enjoy again... i already have a full 3" from the turbo back, so im just waiting for my EGT and boost gauges to arrive then i will play with fueling etc and see what i can get out of her.

Very cool - I've recently done the same thing to my 80... and like you said, well worth it :)
