Where have you guys tee'd off for oil feed and return? could it be done off the vaccum pump feed/return or is that just being rangi?

Oil feed to turbo-my turbo LD28 had a Tee fitting installed between the block and the oil pressure sender/sensor from memory.
oil return- mine had a nipple brazed onto the tin sump. i guess they removed the sump to do it. (The brazing might not be as much risk as the swarf from drilling the hole).

thanks, I was hoping to avoid having to take the sump off to put a fitting in it, but it seems most people go this way

I don't think nissan would change the block moulds when making the LD28 and LD28-T....To costly when one can do both...... There will be a drain back bung in the side of the block there somehwere.

I thought they were never officially made with a turbo?

The LD28T was originally designed as a Genset engine.
The LD28's biggest market was as an industrial, marine and forklift engine.
Turbo charged models were sold in japan europe south africa and aussie.
here is a 1985 laurel with a factory LD28T
