lj78 Prado transfer replacement

Just wondering whether surf(or other) auto trans are the same? I know the transfers are different but they could be swapped?

They all use a variant of the A340E Trans...
The general difference is the line pressure control.
Some use a cable attached to the throttle body...
Some use a solenoid controlled by the ECU.
This trans is also used in many other vehicles...
And can also have different number of clutch packs...

Okay cheers for that. My Prado lost all gears but reverse and 1st. Found oil in trans milky, let it cool down and it selects all now. Gonna give it a flush and hope for the best
